Sahana Koushik is a dedicated and passionate Bharatanatyam dancer. She began her training under Smt. Preeti Ramakrishnan in Sugar Land, TX, for one year, and continued her rigorous training for eight years with Smt. Rajalakshmi Krishna at Shreebala Nrithyalaya in Frisco, TX. Currently an 8th-grade student in Plano, Texas, Sahana has performed extensively at temples throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area and India.
A significant milestone in her career was performing a full Margam with live orchestra at the esteemed Margazhi Festival in December 2024 and December 2025, at venues such as the Thillai Nataraja Temple and renowned Sabhas in Chennai - Brahma Gana Sabha, Karthik Fine Arts, Parthasarathy Sabha, Subham Fine Arts, Vani Mahal, and Pushpanjali Cultural Trust. She was awarded the title "Shubha Nrityajna" in Chennai.
Sahana has earned accolades for her performances at various prestigious events, including recognition in the Varnam category at programs organized by Papanasam Sivan Fine Arts, Sapthami, and FeTNA. She has also consistently received recognition for her performances at temple festivals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Her versatility is further showcased through her participation in dance drama productions and workshops with her Guru Smt. Rajalakshmi Krishna, reflecting her mastery of Bharatanatyam's intricate techniques, rhythmic precision, and emotive storytelling.
